Leave a Comment January 21, 2009

Congratulations to Melissa Helquist for winning the Menu for Hope prize package from Tiny Bites!

Menu for Hope 5

By making a donation to the UN World Food Program through Menu for Hope, Melissa has won:

A signed copy of Vij’s: Elegant & Inspired Indian Cuisine, courtesy of Social Bites

This cookbook shows you how to make fantastic meals like Vancouver’s Indian gem of a restaurant, Vij’s. This copy is signed by Vij’s owners Vikram Vij and Meeru Dhalwala.  Thanks again to Annika Reinhardt of Social Bites for this special contribution.

A bottle of Martin Arndorfer’s 2006 Von den Terrassen, courtesy of Vancouver-based importer, Farmstead Wines

Martin Arndorfer 2006 Von den Terrassen (Farmstead Wines)

Prize sponsor and Farmstead Wines founder Anthony Nicalo has this to say about this bottle:

“Martin’s first vineyard in the Strasser Wechselberg first growth was planted in 1958 as a traditional field blend. The Neuburger, Riesling and Grüner Veltliner grape varieties are all planted at a density of one vine per square meter in an area that is only one-third of an acre. Von den Terrassen or “from the terraces” is just that, from steep steps cut into the mountainside. Only a few hundred bottles are made each year, as this is a true labor of love that is worked 100% by hand without synthetic chemicals or pesticides.”

5 Premium Annual Memberships from Rouxbe.com

A premium membership with Rouxbe gives you access to their amzing video compendium of cooking techniques.  Their Online Cooking School has surely helped us elevate our cooking prowess, so I hope that Melissa and her loved ones will benefit from the 5 memberships that CEO Joe Girard has contributed to this raffle package.

Have you checked whether your donation has won you a prize?  If not, look yourself up at the Menu for Hope raffle results on Chez Pim.

Thank you to all who donated this time around – hope you drop by next year when Menu for Hope returns to Tiny Bites!
