Recipe recap: beef coconut curry

2 Comments July 26, 2008

This is Blogathon post #31 of 48 in support of the David Suzuki Foundation

Trial 1 of a Recipezaar recipe for beef coconut curry came out far below the average rating of 4.5 stars. It may have had something to do with my ineptitude at stir-frying beef in a wok and the fact the recipe didn’t call for any of the usual seasonings (like salt…or Blogathon visitor Steve’s favourite, MSG).

The basic idea is worth another go, though. Can anyone give me advice on how to stir-fry beef so that it does not come out like chunks of rubber?

Try marinating it with a little olive oil before you stir fry. Also, you can try adding a dab of oyster sauce and sugar. Mix it up then stir fry away. See if that works to making the beef being more tender. Or the other solution is buying nicer beef.. hehe..

Got something to say?
