This is Blogathon post #38 of 48 in support of the David Suzuki Foundation
My favourite campaign being run by the David Suzuki Foundation this year is the David Suzuki Digs My Garden photo contest.
Our herb garden is still being groomed before I submit a photo of it under the Balcony Bliss category. The good news is that we have a tomato, which is just emerging in the picture below, that is now the size of a kumquat:
The bad news is that we use our herbs so much that our plants often look like they’ve been clearcut. I suppose it’s good for us that we are cooking with our own herbs and therefore prevent unwanted chemical residue from getting onto our dinner plates…but damn it, I want the David Suzuki garden gnome to pay us a visit!
Do you have a garden photo that you would like to submit? Would you like to know how to grow your garden while keeping it pesticide-free? Sign up for the contest now! Photo submission deadline is September 1, 2008.
For more info:
- Read the “dirt” on the contest (the 4 submission categories described)
- Get inspired by the winning submissions from 2007
- Sign up for the contest and receive gardening tips throughout the contest period

Hey! This post couldn’t be written any better! Reading through this post reminds me of my previous room mate! He always kept chatting about this. I will forward this page to him. Pretty sure he will have a good read. Many thanks for sharing!
