This is Blogathon post #1 of 48 in support of the David Suzuki Foundation
It’s 10pm on Friday night, and instead of painting the town red as one should do on a weekend night, I’m going to be chained to this laptop for 24 hours! Why? To raise awareness and pledges to support the David Suzuki Foundation, an environmental organization based out of Vancouver. Its mission: to achieve sustainability within a generation.
I’m so happy that some of you have already taken interest in this fundraising effort! Here’s the support tally to date:
- Bruce pledged 104.16667 cents for every 1/2 hour I manage to churn out a post, amounting to $50 for the full 24 hours. Thanks Bruce (though I’m tempted to fall short just to see how you will donate fractions of a cent)!
- Christina sent letters to the Prime Minister for the issues she supports. Thank you for taking action!
- Dagny has signed up for the Nature Challenge. Way to go Dagny!
- Stephen of SalsaVancouver.net has kindly loaned me his Macbook for the duration of the Blogathon, which will allow me to hop from food stop to food stop. Thanks for helping me be mobile!
How will you pledge your support?
