Blogathon 2008: the game plan

You may already be thinking that publishing 48 posts in 24 hours is already ambitious, but my strategy for Blogathon Vancouver 2008 doesn’t end there. To minimize blogging in the dozy comfort of my study, I intend to hop from venue to venue, most of them eateries, from 10pm on Friday until 10pm on Saturday.
Where will you be?
Here’s my travel itinerary to date:
10pm – 2am: Autumn Brook Gallery
2am – 7am: Calhoun’s
7am – 9:30am: (tbd)
9:30 am – noon: AGRO Cafe
noon – 2pm: Brioche
2pm – 6pm: Trees Organic Coffee
6pm – 8pm: (tbd)
8pm – 10pm: Boneta
With the exception of Calhoun’s, these venues are in the know about the Blogathon and have kindly agreed to tolerate me, my lens, and my keyboard. A couple of timeslots after Calhoun’s and Trees are still up in the air. If you can think of any other places with Wifi or internet access that would not mind my presence during that time, please send me ideas. If you are affiliated with a business that is interested in having me swing by, and can somehow connect my laptop to the world wide web, please drop me a line.
In the area? You are most welcome to drop by in person and cheer me on. Be prepared to have the lens focus on you to document your support!
So what do you intend to write about?
While the coherence of my posts will likely deteriorate as I near the finish line, I do hope that I’ll be filling your screen up with true content and not sleep-deprived gibberish. There will be posts dedicated to the David Suzuki Foundation and its programs. Many of the posts will attempt to be relevant to regular readers of Tiny Bites. I cannot promise 48 comprehensive reviews of restaurants or recipes, but be assured that the vast majority of the posts will spotlight dining establishments in the Lower Mainland, recap foodie gatherings, or assess recipes that have been tested in the Hamilton kitchen.
Most of the time, I’ll be updating the Tiny Bites photo gallery with images and writing quick impressions of as many of these Vancouver food stops as I can:
- A La Mode
- AGRO Cafe
- Alpha Global Sushi & Bar
- Anton’s
- Baghdad Cafe

Got something to say?

This sounds awesome! And I have to say that I loved the idea of creating a game plan with a geo-tagging of where you’ll be.
I might join you at Calhoun’s but a bit later, depending on how soon I can get to it (since I don’t have a car!)
Hey Kare,
Unfortunately coz of my tournament, I won’t be able to follow, but I assure you I’ll be reading and commenting the first chance I get …
A suggestion for the morning slot, there’s a nice cafe in the Mount Pleasant area, Broadway & Kingsway (it’s downstairs from my studio) – OUR TOWN CAFE – the owner is super nice, his name is Henry Lee, and they have yummy cinnamon buns (since you’re going to be there in the AM) but also great Panini’s. I think they have breakfast sandy’s too but I’ve never tried. They have wireless, just ask them for access. It’s an artist hangout and at night they sometimes have live music, I’m sure they’ll be happy to accommodate you and you might even get some questions about what you’re doing.
