Telltale signs of a food blogger

Have you experienced any of the following at a restaurant lately?
- A member of your dining party having a camera in tow
- Not-quite-surreptitious photography of each dish as it is served
- A (mildly?) irritating wait to dig into your dish while said photographer frames the shot
- Requests from the same person to sample your dish, or at least a verbal poll of whether you are enjoying it
- Promises of a link to Flickr or elsewhere on the web, summarizing the dining experience
If you answered “Oh God, yes…” to any of the above, you likely a) have had dinner with me or b) are acquainted with yet another member of the growing tide of people known as food bloggers.
This blog, which started out on karenhamilton.ca and will branch out as its own (and hopefully somewhat respectable) food site, will document the restauranteurs, diners, and service staff in the Lower Mainland from which I will manage to extract puzzled looks or outright curiosity in whatever possessed me to take a photo of my meal. You may also see recipes from our own kitchen whenever inspiration hits.
I’m up for taste testing anything in the Greater Vancouver area or buddying up for local foodie gatherings. So submit your questions, recommendations, or requests and I’ll do my best to accommodate!

Got something to say?

Hey there, these professional looking pictures are going to make people think Vancouver’s a food paradise (which is not a lie)!
I have a habit of browsing flickr photos of restaurants before I go to them, and have come across your outstanding photos on occasion. Look forward to reading your future posts
Photos looks great, and couldn’t agree more with Dan that Vancouver has to offer plenty eatery places. Keep on blogging, and posting those food images.
